Welcome to the Amazon rainforest toursThe Ecuadorian Rainforest is located in the eastern lowlands of Ecuador. During this wildlife and birdwatching tour we will walk past huge kapok trees while spotting exotic birds, tropical frogs, reptiles such as black and white caiman, noisy monkeys such as howler monkeys and spider monkeys and with some luck mammals such as giant otters, tapirs and others. On these expeditions we will also have the opportunity to visit the native communities of the area. In the Oriente there are 6 different communities (Cofan, Siona-Secoya, Huaorani, Achuar, Shuar and Quichua) most of them conserve part of their culture and try to live like their ancestors.
Napo Wildlife Center (NWC)The Napo Wildlife Center is one of the most beautiful ecolodges in the Ecuadorian Rainforest. This ecolodge is a true ecotourism project managed by the local Añangu Quichua community that conserves approximately 52,000 acres of the most pristine Amazonian Rainforest within the Yasunì National Park, considered one of the hot spots of biodiversity in the world.
Kapawi EcolodgeKapawi Ecolodge and Reserve is located in the Pastaza province in the south of the Ecuadorian rainforest and was created in agreement with the local Achuar communities.
Kapawi is one of the last places on Earth where you can be surrounded by the high biodiversity of wild animals and beautiful plants, and at the same time be in direct contact with the Achuar communities, people that really conserve their interesting ancient culture.
La Selva Jungle LodgeIn La Selva Jungle Lodge, you will enjoy walking through forests of giant trees, past many different plants and wildlife species. Offering an unforgettable experience, this lodge is the only place where you will really feel in the jungle because of its rustic architecture.
Sani LodgeSani Lodge is owned and operated by the indigenous Sani Isla Quichua community of Ecuador. This ecotourism project helps the native people to protect the Ecuadorian rainforest and promotes better education and employment opportunities within the community.
Savages a cultural experience camping with the Huaorani communityDuring this trip we will have the opportunity to share with one of the most genuinely indigenous communities of the Amazon Rainforest, the Huaorani community. This ethnic group had its first contact with the modern world in the 1950’s, before that they lived like nomads hunting, gathering and fishing in perfect harmony with nature. Nowadays there are around 2,400 Huaoranis distributed in 24 villages living in a territory of 680,000 ha (1.7 million acres). |
